John Kasich was sworn in as governor of Ohio on January 10, 2011. Kasich served in the U.S. House of Representatives for nine terms beginning in 1982, during which time he served as chair of the House Budget Committee and spearheaded the effort to pass the Balanced Budget Act of 1997. He also served in the Ohio Senate.
