WE DESERVE BETTER

As I watch the news channels and read the newspapers and Internet, I become increasingly underwhelmed by what I see. Everything has to have an angle. Everyone has to be on a side of an issue or idea. Each party has to be at odds with the others, because to agree with the other side is seen as being weak or against your “people.” Collaboration has become a dirty word. We all should be ashamed.

The current state of our political system is in need of great repair. The political establishment is in control of the country. They may call themselves Republican or Democrat, but they are all the same. They want a small group of themselves to decide the direction of the country. Their decisions revolve around their accumulation of power and money. The probelm is that we elect them to office to fix things and make our lives better, and they don't. We need to start holding them accountable for their actions not intentions. Intentions mean nothing with out action. If we don't like their action, vote them out. This is how voters hold them accountable.

They have let them believe dividing the country is really lucrative for them and keeps them in power, because no one group is big enough on its own to fight them. Therefore, each group must try to gain influence through contributions to have their voice heard. In this system all groups must contribute to everyone to cover their bases. The only ones who win in this system are politicians. WE DESERVE BETTER!

America became great because there has never been a problem we could not overcome. By working together to find answers we have overcame the worst the world has to offer. We have not taken no for an answer. It is time for voters to join together and show politicians how Americans get things done. To find common ground and develop smarter, shorter and simpler laws that make sense. All views will not get everything they want, but there is common ground on most issues. 

The change may not happen overnight. It may be a lengthy process and there will be roadblocks. A couple of the biggest will be apathy, because so many believe that we are stuck with what we have. I believe that the internet has given voters the opportunity to change the playing field.  NewGov.US is a tool that helps voters organize and show their will. Another, large obstacle will be political establishment and media, because the current system is working very will for them. We have to show them that there is an answer, and the answer is US.
